Summit Loop Geology Hike | Smith Rock State Park 

This gorgeous loop follows the Burma Road up to a ridge overlooking famed peaks like Monkey Face. On the descent, the Summit Loop connector trail crosses a private property protected by the Land Trust before joining the Park’s river trail. Learn about how this dramatic area was formed by the forces of volcanoes and water during this fun and challenging 7 mile loop. Registration required.

Monster Dash 5k/10k & Little Monster Mile | Highland Elementary School 

A spooktacular event featuring a 5k/10k and Little Monster Mile in support of Younity, an organization providing bully-prevention programs and workshops to Central Oregon Schools. Costumes are encouraged. There will be face painting, candy, prizes, games, and more!

Anyone interested in good food, simple healthy meals, and the broad notion of building community is invited! Deschutes Brewery Community Pint Night | Deschutes Brewery Public House 

Deschutes Brewery will donate $1 per pint sold every Tuesday of the month of October to Bend Spay and Neuter Project. Have a beer and give back! The mission of Bend Spay & Neuter Project is to provide affordable, preventative veterinary care for cats and dogs at risk of suffering in order to make Central Oregon a more humane community for us all. Help us support their important work! (In the Bend tasting room at the main brewery, $2 per growler fill on Tuesdays will go to the same charity.)
